For those keeping score, seven years ago today…
February 1st, 2009

Today, February 1, is the seventh anniversary of Principled Innovation’s founding! I am using this celebratory occasion to unveil the company’s new visual identity. Ta-da!
Over the last month, I have been working with designer Mike Rohde of Rohdesign to update and refresh P.I. current logo, which has served me very well over the last seven years. (Thank you Scott Steen for the wonderful gift!) Many of my clients and colleagues, friends and family, shared their views during this creative process, and I am grateful to all of you for your excellent input. Believe me, making the final decision was extremely difficult.
In the end, I chose this logo because it conveys a strong 21st century sensibility, without being faddish. It challenges the viewer to think about the future in different ways, which is precisely what I am trying to accomplish in my work with the association community. Overall, I think it makes a dramatic and edgy statement about new possibilities for the pursuit of innovation, guided by fundamental principles.
In the coming months, you will see the integration of P.I.’s refreshed visual identity into a brand new web presence, as well as in other venues across the Web. If you have any feedback on the logo, please comment below. And sincere thanks to everyone who has helped Principled Innovation and me make it to this seventh year anniversary. I could not have done it without you.
