YES, THIS IS THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

The first decade of the 21st century is drawing to a close, and leaders in associations of all shapes and sizes continue to struggle with defining radically different visions of the future for their organizations.  They aren’t ready to embrace the revolution unfolding in our world, and I believe this is because they are asking the wrong questions.  Now is the time to begin asking the right ones.

This is the reason why I am writing a new book called “Embracing the Revolution: Ten Burning Questions for 21st Century Association Leaders.”  I am incredibly excited about this project, because I think we have the opportunity to use it as a platform for deep and enduring strategic change in our community.  More thoughts on how this goal can be achieved in future announcements…

For now, you may have noticed that I used the word “we” above.  That’s because I want you–P.I. Blog readers and my association community colleagues–to be involved in shaping the content of the book!  Please complete the survey I’ve created no later than October 1, 2008.  You can rate your interest in reading essays about various questions, share your own questions and resource recommendations.  As a way to say thanks for your help, we will send you a discount code when the book is about to be published.

You’re also invited to sign up for the book’s private Twitterstream to receive more regular announcements, inside information and invitations to contribute in the coming months.  I hope you’ll find a way to become involved in this project and, as always, I welcome your direct input and feedback via e-mail.

Welcome to the revolution!  I hope we can embrace it together.
