My schedule at ASAE & The Center 08

August 1st, 2008

ASAE & The Center’s Annual Meeting is only a couple of weeks away!  I’ll be traveling for much of the time between now and then, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to share some of the highlights of my schedule during the meeting for the P.I. Blog readership.  I hope to see many of you in San Diego!

On Saturday, August 16, I’ll be doing a session on social technologies with Michael LoBue as part of the AMC Owners & Principals Program.

On Sunday, August 17 from 1:30 pm-2:45 pm, I’ll be part of the bloggercon session that will take place in the Convention Center’s Outdoor Amphitheater.  We’ll be talking about what’s happening in the association community, and we’ll answer your questions about social technologies.  Come hang with us!

I’m pretty sure I’ll be attending the “secret session” on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 pm.  I think it’s back in the amphitheater, and it’s just too intriguing to miss.  If you’re not already part of the Facebook group, you should sign up for it.

On Monday, August 18 from 10:30 am-11:45 am, I’ll be leading a learning lab on governing for innovation.  It’s a slightly different title than what’s published, which reflects a important evolution in my thinking in this area.  It’s going to be an excellent conversation, so I hope you’ll join me there.

On Monday night, I’ll be attending the YAP 80s/90s Dance Party.  Should be a fun way to throw out my back.  (Hey, it’s been alot of years since the 80s.)

On Tuesday, August 19 from 2:30 pm-3:15 pm, blogger buddy Maddie Grant and I will be leading a “pecha kuchasession designed to help Annual Meeting attendees clarify their learning stories from the event.  When you return to the office following the meeting, your colleagues (or your boss) may ask you, “So, what did you learn?”  This session will help you develop your answer.

I’ll be helping out with some other learning labs, and I hope to do some blogging and twittering during the conference as well.  I’ll definitely be on the Twitter back channel, and I encourage you to sign up for it.

It’s going to be busy.  How’s that for stating the incredibly obvious?  I’m looking forward to it, and I hope you are too!
