A few important announcements

February 25th, 2008

Just a quick reminder that I will be doing a LIVE Interview Online session tomorrow at 2 pm EST. If you join the conversation live, you can pose your questions and receive answers in real time. Otherwise, you can read the transcript after the session.

The topic of tomorrow’s interview is “The Next Traditions of Association 3.0,” and I encourage you to read my new article on the subject. Please bring your questions, ideas and insights to the discussion!

Also, the Society of National Association Publications (SNAP) is running its 2008 EXCEL Awards, and this year, the program includes awards for blogs, podcasts and wikis. If your association would like to be recognized for its excellent use of social media, you have until this Friday, February 29 to submit your application and materials. Don’t miss this opportunity to pick up some hardware…;>)

I’m also pleased to announce that I will be writing a new column for Association Publishing, SNAP’s official magazine, on how to transform association publications from containers for information to platforms for engagement. The column, which will be called “The Social Medium,” will appear for the first time in the May/June issue of Association Publishing. Please share your ideas for possible column topics as comments below.
