Finally arrived in Sydney…
August 27th, 2007
I arrived in Sydney this morning after a one-day delay caused by a late connecting flight from Dulles. Rather than spend the night and all day Saturday in LA waiting to fly out, I decided to rebook the entire trip, and left on Saturday afternoon from Washington, arriving in Australia today, i.e., Monday morning locally. The LA-Sydney flight was quite good, as 13+ hour flights go I suppose. I actually managed to sleep for several hours, which is a major accomplishment for someone who experiences mild anxiety when flying.
It is now just after 6 pm Monday in Sydney, and it has been a good day, dominated by a few hours of sleep this morning and a meetup this afternoon with futurist Richard Watson. Richard is a very busy guy who took some time out of a jammed packed schedule (he is launching a new book next week and speaking at a conference in Melbourne tomorrow) to chat with me, and I am very grateful. Tonight, I am having dinner with John Peacock, head of Associations Forum, which is hosting the conference where I am speaking on Wednesday.
I will keep blogging and post some photos in the next few days. Being 14 hours ahead of EDT, the schedule will be someone strange, but I know you’ll keep reading!
