The closest I’ll ever come…

July 6th, 2007

Here is my custom cover on this month’s Wired Magazine. A few months back, Wired offered its subscribers the opportunity to submit a photo for publication on this issue’s cover. It is part of a special production arrangement with Xerox. Anyway, the first 5,000 subscribers to respond were included, and my photo was in that very nerdy group. Still, I did want to do it, because this is, without question, the closest I will ever come to actually being on the cover of a publication as well-known and respected as Wired.

And obviously, I am not alone in my geekdom. In fact, there is now a flickr group of other nerds, I mean, other cover-dwellers and you can grab the feed for it if you’re interested in seeing some of the other covers, including a few that are much cooler than mine. At the time I write this post, my photo has not been approved by the group administrator, so you won’t see it up there just yet.

Let me know your opinion of the cover. Personally, I think it is a much better likeness than the TIME cover I did at the end of last year, don’t you?

You are immortal. That will be a nice item to pass along through the generations.
