Jeff sings to Meg

May 22nd, 2007

On May 12, I hosted a surprise birthday party to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. That evening, I reprised the song I sang to her at our wedding reception in 1992, Billy Joel’s “She’s Got A Way.” As was the case 15 years ago, I was accompanied by Billy himself (via my iPod), so you will hear him singing in the background. It was a very difficult three minutes for me, which is why I am burying it in eight minutes of video from the beginning of the party when Meg is still experiencing the stupor of surprise, delight and happiness. Her facial expressions and reactions are my favorite part of this clip.

To be completely honest, I am posting this against my better judgment, especially since this is my business blog. But, I don’t have a personal blog and I wanted to make it easy for friends and family to find. Let me be clear that I know I am not a good singer, and I don’t need any reminders. Please go easy on me in the comments.

    You are amazing Jeff.
    That was beautiful.
    Billy Joel would be proud.

    Cheers - JR

    Jeff,

That was great. You have given me an idea for my wife’s 40th birthday in a few years!!

    I am quite impressed!!
