P.I. Podcast #7: Interview with Don Tapscott
March 22nd, 2007

Wikinomics is probably the most important book for association executives and volunteers to read this year. As organizations across our community grapple with the strategic, cultural and business model implications of Web-enabled mass collaboration on a global scale, there is not a better resource for association leaders who are trying to make sense of it all.
But if you really want to understand what’s happening on the Web today, you need to take the advice that Don Tapscott, Wikinomics co-author, shared in our podcast interview: personal use. You need to experiment by editing a page on Wikipedia, writing a blog or getting involved in social networking. It is through your personal experiences with social media that you will come to understand why these tools are changing our world–and your association–so profoundly.
You can begin your process of self-directed exploration and discovery by listening to the full podcast. It is about 25 minutes in length, and I hope you will let me know what you think. And check out the Wikinomics book site for additional resources.
