Ben thinks P.I. Blog ROCKS!

January 12th, 2007

During my absence from posting last week, I was surprised and delighted to learn of Ben’s recognition of the P.I. Blog as the best association blog of the year! Since I believe Ben and Jamie are the two best bloggers in our community right now, I was truly humbled by this particular kudo. Since I began writing the P.I. Blog in March 2006, I have tried to live up to the standard that Ben, Jamie and others have set. I’m really pleased to know that I have been at least somewhat successful in this effort. Thanks Ben. I’m really honored, so much so, that I have added a special badge to the sidebar under the Good Stuff header.

It was fantastic to see Jamie singled out as blogger of the year (I wholeheartedly agree) and The Five Independent Thinkers book, We Have Always Done It That Way: 101 Things About Associations We Must Change, acknowledged as the most “blogworthy” event of 2006. I also take a certain amount of pride in Ann Oliveri’s selection as one of the three best new bloggers of 2006. Regular readers will recall that in a post last summer, I encouraged Ann to join the Blogoclump, and she launched her outstanding Zen of Associations blog in October.

All in all, I’m quite proud of both the P.I. Blog and our burgeoning blogging community. I fully expect we will continue to grow and challenge associations to embrace social media. I’m looking forward to being a part of that effort.
