Announcing i-School
July 10th, 2006
Today’s big announcement is simply thrilling for me! It is something I’ve been thinking about doing for awhile, and I am delighted that it has come together. I am extremely pleased to announce today that I am launching i-School, the world’s first online school for association innovators, with the first two very exciting four-week virtual courses beginning this fall!
- From September 6-September 27, you will learn how Google became one of the world’s leading innovators in less than a decade, and how you can apply its innovation insights and practices to your association’s work!
- From October 3-October 24, learn how to fully leverage blogging, podcasting, wikis and other Web 2.0 tools by developing a clear and simple social media strategy for your association!
i-School’s four-week virtual courses are both compact and high impact! In a very short period of time, you will develop a deeper understanding of your course’s critical questions, important issues and key ideas. You will be able to apply what you’ve learned to your association’s work quickly, and create extraordinary new value for your members. What’s more, you’ll be advancing your career by building your capabilities as an association innovator! If you’re ready to go to the next level, i-School can take you there!
To simplify your decision to participate, I am offering PI Blog readers a 20% discount off course tuition for the next two weeks, through July 24. Use code PIBLOG710 when registering for either course to secure your discount. If you’re interested in signing up for both courses or if you would like to register a group from your association, please contact me for special discount codes.
Detailed information for the September and October courses will be posted in early August, and I’ll be announcing the November and January virtual courses around the same time. (Like many of you, i-School will take December off.) If you’d like to receive regular updates on i-School, please subscribe to the PI Blog either by RSS (feed link) or e-mail.
For me, creating i-School is simply another expression of my personal mission to make innovation more possible in the association community. Since I founded Principled Innovation LLC more than four years ago, I have been working consistently to make progress toward this goal and, in the true spirit of innovation, I have experimented with a variety of approaches. i-School is an experiment as well, a wide open space for prototyping new learning possibilities, that I expect to be working on for some time. I hope you’ll join me and become a participant in this new innovation adventure!

If you're new here, I hope you will consider subscribing to the P.I. Blog. Just click on this link to add it to your RSS reader. You can also receive e-mail updates by subscribing via the box located on the blog itself. Thanks for visiting!
