The first PI Skypecast is tomorrow
May 30th, 2006
Just a quick reminder that the first-ever PI Skypecast is happening tomorrow, May 31 at 2 pm EDT, 11 am PDT, 6 pm GMT. The subject is the necessity of freedom and discipline to innovation. In preparation for the conversation, I suggest you take a quick look at a brief article written earlier this by Google executive Marissa Mayer for Business Week. It is a useful exploration of how freedom and discipline play out in Google’s innovation efforts.
Here are a few questions I will be exploring during tomororw’s session:
- What do I mean by freedom and discipline?
- Are freedom and discipline contradictory?
- How do you strike the right balance of freedom and discipline in innovation?
If you have any questions, please e-mail me with them no later than 1:30 pm EDT tomorrow. Don’t forget that you must have/use Skype to participate!
If you're new here, I hope you will consider subscribing to the P.I. Blog. Just click on this link to add it to your RSS reader. You can also receive e-mail updates by subscribing via the box located on the blog itself. Thanks for visiting!

Tried to join skypecast but was unsuccessful.
May have totally been due to my being a newbie with skype
Please post info on the reactions.
When I was apparently “attached”, NOBODY had their microphone shown as being turned on. I ask for such, but was never responded to.
Don’t know if the sCast system has a sideband facility for typed chat, but think that would help with the “admin” side of any wCasting capability

Howard, I’m sorry you had difficulty connecting to today’s Skypecast. I don’t really know what happened. This was my first Skypecast, so I was not completely sure of what to do.
I hope you’ll join me for the next Skypecast on June 14 at 2 pm EDT.
