Showcasing simplicity at Philips
May 29th, 2006
I encourage you to check out the Simplicity Showcase on the Philips Electronics website. It includes two very intriguing displays of current products (Simplicity Today) and product concepts for the future (Simplicity Tomorrow). It should help you get a clearer idea of why Philips believes so strongly in simplicity. If the showcase fails to make it plain, the following statement from the Vision of Simplicity page of the site should:
At Philips, we believe that technology should be as simple as the box it comes in. It’s this very simplicity that transforms a task into an opportunity, a burden into a pleasure.
How would you change the first sentence so the “simple” metaphor is apt for your association? Perhaps your Simplicity Advisory Board can offer some fresh perspectives!
