TDOB #6: First PI Skypecast on May 31

May 19th, 2006

A few weeks ago, my blogger bud Ben Martin pointed us to information on Skypecasts. I promised in a comment to Ben’s post that I would be doing a Skypecast very soon.

Well, the day has come. On Wednesday, May 31 at 2 pm EDT, I will lead the inaugural Principled Innovation Skypecast. At first, I thought that I would wait because I’m reasonably confident that only a handful of association professionals are actually using Skype, which is required to participate. (By the way, if anyone has better information on Skype usage in the association community, please let me know.) But after further consideration, I decided that I would move forward with the Skypecast for two important reasons. First, I’d like to give my association colleagues a reason to start using Skype, and I’m hoping that a regularly-scheduled PI Skypecast will provide them with at least some incentive to sample the technology.

The second reason, of course, is my personal commitment to making innovation more possible in the association community. This is a critical conversation for associations and I hope you will choose to be a part of it. On May 31, we will begin our dialogue by exploring the need for both freedom and discipline in innovation. Please e-mail me with any questions before the start of the Skypecast. I’m really looking forward to the discussion!
