Announcing the Ten Days of Blog

May 5th, 2006

The day got away from me a little bit today, so I apologize for this delay. I’m pleased to announce that beginning Monday, May 15th, I will begin the very ambitious Ten Days of Blog! That’s right, beginning May 15th, I will post at least once everyday through May 24th, including some very special and cool stuff that I can’t talk about right now. If I really get into it, I might even post the very first Principled Innovation Podcast during the blogly festivities! You never know what might happen, so you won’t want to miss any of it.

You can contribute to the success of the TDOB by suggesting topics for my posts as comments below! I very much want to hear from you and I hope you will share your thoughts. The Ten Days of Blog will be a very compelling exploration of ideas and issues facing association leaders today and in the future. The fun begins just ten days from now!

Okay Jeff, you know I’m a huge PI fan, but this is a bit of a letdown. With all that build-up, I was hoping for something much bigger — dare I say, more innovative. With that little challenge issued…

I’m always interested in your take on the state of the association industry. I’d love to get more of your thoughts on the ASAE/Center merger now that we’re about two years into it. Any additional thinking about EMSAL? How about a round-up of associations doing innovative stuff?

[…] Can association boards fulfill these responsibilities? To be honest, I have my doubts, not because I question the intentions of today’s volunteer board members, but because I am concerned they lack the requisite time, energy and attention resources to engage in the kind of active and energetic governance described here. I am also concerned that this issue is not the subject of enough discussion in our community, and so I will be posting on it during The Ten Days of Blog. […]

Ben, I’m sorry I let you down. You know that was not my intention. I do hope you will find the TDOB interesting and provocative enough to retroactively warrant the build-up. And as far as something more innovative, you never know what will be coming down the pike in the months ahead…

[…] Anyway, speaking of hype, I thought I would use TDOB to do a little hype for my next big announcement, coming in early June. There will be no clues this time either. You’ll just have to guess at what I am planning. I am very hopeful, however, that this announcement won’t disappoint a certain important member of The Blogoclump who was underwhelmed the last time. I think this one is pretty cool and very much in keeping with my commitment to innovation. I’ll keep you posted on when you can look for something here on the blog. In the meantime, I suggest catching a good movie this weekend! […]
