The dearth of posts

April 9th, 2006

I launched the Principled Innovation Blog last month and it was my intention to begin with a Seven Days of Blog effort, something I used to do on The Association Innovation Blog. Unfortunately, I am in the middle of a move from Arlington to Reston and my schedule has simply become insane. I was so pleased last Sunday when I was able to post to this blog, The Association Renewal Blog I write with Jamie Notter and the We Have Always Done It That Way book blog, for which I am one of five authors. Three posts in one day…now that was really exciting!

I learned my lesson on both The Association Innovation Blog and the Associations Unorthodox podcast that I should not apologize for failing to post, both because it inappropriately presumes that people are eagerly awaiting each and everyone of my posts (not true) and because I’ll never stop apologizing since the rest of my life will always get in the way of adding to this or any other blog. So, from the outset, I am adopting a “no-apologies” policy for the PI Blog. I will post as often as I can, and I fully expect to post more beginning in May once my move it complete. For those of you who do read my stuff regularly, thank you, and I very much appreciate your patience as I work to build momentum for this blog.

Seth Godin recently argued that bloggers are blogging too much. I’m absolutely certain he wasn’t talking about me, and I take some solace from the idea that I am not contributing too much noise to either the blogosphere or, closer to home, The Blogoclump. There are many fine blogs and bloggers out there and I truly aspire to join their number through the quality of my posts rather than the frequency. I’ll continue to stretch myself and I hope you’ll stick with me as I do.

If you're new here, I hope you will consider subscribing to the P.I. Blog. Just click on this link to add it to your RSS reader. You can also receive e-mail updates by subscribing via the box located on the blog itself. Thanks for visiting!
